Its not reading Any CDs,but DVD is reading well i can watch movies and all ..

    @ subhan,

    Welcome to the Forum.

Panasonic/Matsushita/Matshita drives have a well-documented history of being extremely “Media” picky. Panasonic/Matsushita/Matshita drives require the use of high quality top of the line Media. Attempting the use of lesser grade Media will only prove to be problematic.

Suggest only using known proven high quality top of the line Media such as Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim Media which consistently produces quality error free results.

    Regards,
    bjkg

  • Question by adivi23, Wednesday 20th of August 2008 03:49
Hi, I have Matshita DVD RAM UJ-850S in my laptop. I just want to ask does this DVD RAM can write into DVD9 (DVD Double Layer)? Can I use Nero 8 to burn DVD9? Thanks.

    Hello,
your Matsushita can burn DL media (although I never actually burn any DL media on my 850S). But you should use only Verbatim DVD+R DL media, and burn them preferably at 2,4x speed. As a burning app you can use Nero 8 but IMGBurn is a better choice for DL media burning.

unspecified error on all dvd burns with all medias
Answer by _chef_, Friday 15th of August 2008 12:47
You already posted that problem somewhere.........
Answer by bjkg, Saturday 16th of August 2008 04:45
    @ soundparty,

The title of your Forum posting is misleading because apparently your “Unspecified Error” does not occur with “All Medias” as your posting title indicates.

From reading one of your other Forum posting Forum Member _chef_ made mention of ->

    soundparty said:
.....I tried several medias like nero and alkohal, win avi.....

You are confused - Nero, Alcohol, and/or WinAvi are NOT “Media”. These are Software Programs – not DVD “Media”.

Suggest trying known proven quality error free Media such as Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim Media which consistently produces quality error free results.

Panasonic/Matsushita/Matshita drives have a well-documented history of being extremely “Media” picky. Panasonic/Matsushita/Matshita drives require the use of high quality top of the line Media. The use of lesser grade Media will only prove to be problematic.

Suggest reviewing the below Forum posting and note Forum Member eyeshield initial #9 posting and then #16 posting comments after switching to known proven quality error free Verbatim Media.

    http://club.cdfreaks.com/f61/ever-here-matshita-dvd-ram-uj-850s-210698/

If after switching to known proven quality error free Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim Media you continue to have problems post a Nero Log of a failed Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim Media burning attempt for analyst.

Hi mooseman923 and welcome to the forum! The problem is very likely that Matshita drive. Replace it if you can or add an external drive.
Answer by GJ, Sunday 31st of August 2008 05:00
Matshita drives have conflicts when changing the region coding. Do what 90312 said replace the drive or buy an external USB dvd drive.
