  • Converting to Ipod Touch
  • Question by rawlins4, Monday 29th of September 2008 19:58
I am trying to use DVD Fab to convert some films to my Ipod Touch, but whenever I have done this, it never seems to work. I do everything right in Ipod Touch, and select the Ipod touch, but when it has finished, it comes out as an M4V file. I don't know whether an Ipod Touch supports M4V, but whenever I try and play it in quicktime, it says that it doesn't support this file, and when I try and add it to iTunes, nothing happens.

I have done this on numerous occasions, and eventually I decided to try and select the Ipod.mpeg4 option, as I know quicktime supports mpeg4. For some reason though, this doesn't seem to work either, it does the same thing on both programs.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you using the latest version of DVDFab (5.0.9.8)?
    Answer by load97, Wednesday 1st of October 2008 09:35
M4V is the extention that itunes / Apple uses for movies. That is the correct extention for it to be able to drag and drop it in to itunes etc.. You need to explain more of what you are doing / did exactly.

Try using the newest beta. I didn't have luck with the 5.0.9.5. The one that signals posted worked much better for iphone/touch and the presets etc. What bitrate and resolution are you using etc?

  • dvdnextcopy pro v2.9.9.1 and iPod Touch: how to convert multiple episodes from DVD?
  • Question by nooneofconsequence, Saturday 9th of August 2008 18:45
new user of dvdnextcopy pro v2.9.9.1. I have some DVDs that have
multiple episodes on the disc. When I select the mobile option I seem to be able to only burn the largest (size) single episode. Any way to burn the other episodes in the moble (mp4) format?

thanks in advance for any help.
Answer by nooneofconsequence, Saturday 9th of August 2008 21:50
I found if I create separate projects and copy only the episode I want then I can reopen the project later and select mobile and convert it.

I am having the same problem with a dvd. Can you please explain in more detail on how to convert multiple episodes to mobile.
Answer by Dr. Who, Wednesday 5th of November 2008 20:51
Copy just each episode for now. They are usually the longest or biggest title set in the info window.

  • iTouch- Some movies work, Some don't
  • Question by Turbo Punk, Thursday 7th of August 2008 03:56
    I transfered a few movies to my iTouch library. Some work fine on the iTouch and others (when synching) I get the message;

"Underworld EvolutionTitle1.DVDRip" was not copied to the iPod "xxxxxxxx" because it cannot be played on this iPod.

I transfered 3 movies after converting them into my iTunes library on monday. Two of the movies work fine, :Underworld" and "The Chronicles of Riddick", and as I said before, "Underworld-Evolution" didn't.

Is there a logical reason it didn't work? I used the same settings for each conversion and I even tried using DVDFab4 and 5 as well as the latest version of DVDFab5.

    Has anyone else experienced this?

I'm at a loss. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

Try analyzing the files with MediaInfo (or other) to see if there are any differences in characteristics between the ones that work and those that don't. The ones I make for my cellphone look like this if the bitrate gets too high. Try playing them with VLC media player and see if it reports any dropped frames on the statistics tab under View->Stream and Media Info.
