My products

Unfortunately, I have no consumer electronic products in my possession. Also, there are no products I have on my wannahaves list at this moment.

My Reactions:

It was 33 files that got them the conviction, which were actually stored on their computers.. They didnt even get the conviction based on BitTorrent files..

"The four were found guilty of making 33 specific files accessible through The Pirate Bay."

$1.1mill per file? Ludicris..

"...half the charges were dropped on the second day of the trial after Swedish prosecutors failed to prove the BitTorrent files to be offered as evidence actually used The Pirate Bay's tracker."

So BitTorrents are NOT the reason they were found guilty as they can not be used as evidence..

If they set any tone with this verdict its...

Bring Blu-Ray down to a rspectable level $20 and then Ill bite.. Ill bite even more when you could make affordable backups. I hate to bring up a dead format, but I have a few HD DVD titles that actually the DVD version on the flip side of the disc.. Why cant Blu-Ray do this?
20 Feb 2009 05:44

Maybe they arent using camcorders anymore.. I had a copy of the movie TAKEN that looks like it was ripped from DVD.. Of course I deleted it promptly once I found out it was a bootleg when I got to the end of the movie.. policeman

Ive been following this case for sometime now ever since they were raided and their equipment confiscated. As far as I know and from their comments on TPB, Swedish law does not consider a file (in this case a torrent tracker) which only links to the infringing material, a violation of law. Since they do not actually host any copyrighted material on their equipment, they are not breaking the law. And unlike the Napster days, none of the infringing data actually passes through their servers.. ...

I guess so..

I understand fully.. If you read my initial reaction (first post) you would see that I did mention that the liqidation company is in control and store managers really cant offer anything better on the listed prices..

I hope you can rebound and find yourself employment elsewhere before your fully terminated..

@whitewolf68;

First off, Circuit City's demise was not due to consumers shopping at Best Buy and Walmart.. Even if it was true, maybe the corporate heads should have at least figured out why people were shopping there to begin with.. As a consumer, I go where the cheapest price is and in most cases, for me, its usually found somewhere on the internet.. I get savings from the purchase price, free shipping and no sales tax..

The cause is the same reason financial instituations...

I didnt find any good deals when they closed a select few of their stores late last year and I doubt you will initially find a good bargain earlier in the liquidation.. If your planning on saving some money then hold out a few weeks when they slash the prices again..

Also, dont count on any store manager giving you a better deal than what is already marked.. These stores are run by the liquidation companies and the store managers really have no pull..

Heres some of my own numbers:

99.99% of the RIAA are A-Holes..

Dont rule out the possibilty that Microsoft will buy the HD DVD patent altogether therefore eliminating the middle man and any possibility of licensing out that technology to others..
11 Jan 2009 05:00

That can also be a viable option considering the cheap cost of hard disks and the ability to re-encode the movie in high defination resolutions to save on hard disk space..
10 Jan 2009 18:29

Samsung also announced that they are exiting the rear projection manufacturing part of their business to focus more on LCD and Plasma.. Seems that Mitsubishi will be the only one left to manufacter rear projection based HDTV's..
10 Jan 2009 18:21

As long as they continue to make SSD's quicker, then they will have the potential in replacing or supplementing hard disk drives in hardware configurations..
10 Jan 2009 18:18

Not bad.. I wish my iPod Touch had a AM/FM tuner and a memory expansion slot.. Though I wish this had the extras like WiFi, an internet browser and custom applications.. I guess it comes down to what exactly you want it for..
10 Jan 2009 18:15

Failed HD format yes, but its still a viable storage format.. Also, last time I checked it was incorporated into the 360 as an add-on component.. While it may not be incorporated into the current 360, it may well hold the key in answering the storage and piracy issues with their next generation console..

10 Jan 2009 18:07

Totally agree with you on that.. The price of blank BD media is the ultimate decision maker for me as to when and if I get on the BD bandwagon.. With two small kids running around and ripping things apart, Id like to be able to make affordable backups of any Blu-Ray titles.. Lets not also forget to mention more affordable BD movie titles..
10 Jan 2009 17:27

They should not release any hardware that isnt cut to be purchased.. Why should one wait a few months to add features that should already be supported? These players should already be Profile 2.0 compatible and they should all be easily and immediately upgradable..

The set is over 6 years old and the 5 year extended warranty expired. With two young kids running around, I doubt I can deal with the down time the repair will take.. This also has nothing to do with money, in fact repairing the set doesnt guarantee something else wont go wrong with it down the road.. Its more practical to look at alternatives rather than making a repair that may or may not fix the problem.. These sets arent exactly cheap to fix and parts are very scarce, which is why the...

Im junking it because its acting up and I dont know how much more life Im going to get out of it.. It occassionally flashes green and then shuts off leaving me to believe the green CRT gun is going bad.. Its not so bad right now, but when it goes, its going to need to be replaced.. Replacement of the gun requires it to be removed and sent out to be rebuilt so your looking at a downtime of at least 2-3 weeks.. Nevermind the cost for the repair guy to come two times and the cost of the rebuild.....
