Which one of the next generation storing formats will become the dominating format in the future? One question, many opinions and no real answer, but the war goes in its final rounds and we will get the answer soon.
Companies backing the next generation DVD formats, Blu-ray and HD-DVD, used the CES show in
Resulting from the high storage capacities which Blu-ray offers was the Blu-ray Disc Association's (BDA) ability to win some game giants and tech publishers for backing the format. The BDA introduced Electronic Arts and Vivendi Universal Games as well as Sun Microsystems and Texas Instruments as newest members of their group.
"Gaming is a multibillion dollar business that is largely
being ignored by HD DVD," said Richard Doherty, director of professional AV for
Panasonic Hollywood Laboratory and according to CNet, Blu-ray Disc supporters plan to include interactive features and gaming capabilities to discs that hold high definition movies.

The four new companies on the side of Blu-ray have changed a lot in this race. Before this I would have said that HD-DVD with its backing movie studios is in advantage but now the BDA has the better cards to win, especially Electronic Arts, which is one of the most popular game publishers at the moment, brings Blu-ray a big step closer to the finish line.
