VSO Software: First drive and media database results posted

california girl used our news submit to tell us "The database results are very interesting and is great information to be aware of for everyday burning!"

VSO Software is happy to wish you a happy new year for 2006. For us 2005 was so exciting with the introduction of new products and versions such as DivxToDVD. Expect to see new features and products from VSO Software for this wonderful new year of 2006.

Thanks again for your support.

The first part of an article about the database results is available here. To start the new year, a new coupon "new2006" is available for a limited time.

Now let's look at the usage of different DVD formats. There are basically the + and - families (R and RW) and we divided DL media into another section to see its popularity and success rate.

DVD format graph

Media Type          Uses          Success rate
DVD -R   1377221 93,1
DVD +R   1032258 94,1
DVD + RW   208263 94,4
DVD - RW #1   62238 88,9
DVD - RW #2   29131 88,0
DVD RAM   1462 82,6
DVD -R DL   320 87,8
DVD +R DL  20109 83,5

They have really put together a nice article! This is a nice concept for a software manufacturer to use and it is certainly something that would benefit the optical drive community. The 2006 offer they mention in the above quote is for a 15% discount on their products.

By the way, from all of us here at CD Freaks- please enjoy a Happy and especially safe New Years!
