Part of conclusion: CenDyne has an excellent track record here at CDRLabs. They've consistently scored near the head of the pack when compared to their peers, and the Arsion does not stray from that line. Thanks to the P-CAV writing capabilities, the drive is 5 seconds from being one of the fastest 40x writers in existence. Those skeptics out there that are still not sold on the USB 2.0 interface must take notice that it is more than capable in keeping this drive at maximum performance while maintaining maximum mobility. Going back over the read data collected, I still remain impressed. Not only does it slightly exceed 40x at the edge of a disc, but it uses that to create an inflated average read speed. I can understand the people who claim that read speeds are "fast enough", but those are not the same people who have purchased Illusion Softworks' Mafia and had to sit through a full 3 CD, 1.8 GB installation. Performance isn't a frill, it's a requirement, and the Arsion gives it to us in an easy to carry external package. |
