Taiwan to launch FVD on schedule Microsoft jumps on board

The new Forward Versatile Disc format, or FVD, has been announced to be on schedule for release. The first models sporting this alternative scheme may be seen for sale by years end.
According to this report at DigiTimes, FVD has won Microsoft's support. Below is a breakdown of Taiwans Advanced Optical Storage Research Alliance (AOSRA). This group is an R&D team of local manufacturers.
