We can not say that the Playstation 3 is the best player out there, but it's definetly the most popular way to get into the format. To make the console as 'blu', as it can, Sony decided to integrate a Bluetooth remote control.
Whatever Sony was thinking, they were not thinking enough. With making the remote control 'blu', it was impossible to integrate the PS3 with your system's remote scheme. From now on it will be possible to control your PS3 like any other Blu-ray player. An IR receiver captures commands from a standard infrared remote control, figures out what they are, and then sends the correct electrical impulse.
This all stimulates you to push a button, resulting in the right command being send to the Playstation.

"We can not say that the Playstation 3 is the best player out there..."
You should because it is. Not only does it offer top-notch quality, but it's the only player that will be well supported with firmware upgrades.
As players transition to profile 1.1 and 2.0 and BD-J matures, the PS3 will upgraded to meet expectations. All the other players (which are way more expensive) will be neglected and left to obsolescence.

Sony did the correct thing with the controller. Not having to aim it directly at the box is a great improvement.

Is it just me, or why can\'t figure out what the heck the author is trying to say with the last 3-4 sentences?
And several Home AV magazines have recently praised the PS3 Blu-ray capabilities, as it seems to out perform regular stand-alone players.
But of course, this is an anti-Sony website.

"Duh, since Sony did DRM they should be banned!"
So does Toshiba and Microsoft.

Since Hollydud wouldn't release movies on either format unless the signal between the player and display was encrypted BOTH formats use HDCP

Toshiba manufactures the Zune for Microsoft, and that's one of the most restricted pieces of trash out there (2nd only to the Iphone).

BD+ was cracked:

They BOTH have DRM. BOTH have been cracked.
DRM won't go away if you buy an HD DVD player, but NOT BUYING DRM restricted products will annihilate DRM.

Let's ignore DRM from other companies and just hate Sony.
Right?
