ASUS has announced a new DVD rewriter, called the DRW-20B1S/B1ST, that supports 12x DVD-RAM writes, 20x DVD+/-R and 12x DVD+/-R double layer media sources. The rewriter features an Optimal Turning Strategy (OTS) that automatically adjusts burning for optimum disc backups.
OTS improves the writing since it first runs a test burn before burning the disc and Optimal Turning Strategy is intelligent enough to see media and drive variations. To provide optimal writing speeds for each new disc, OTS also operates temperatures into its calculations. After writing a certain disc for the first time, the system memorises the settings and uses it when the same type of disc is inserted another time.
To keep a green image and conserve energy, ASUS has added E-Green Technology. When idle for a few minutes the drive will automatically switch-off and conserve. Besides a few impressive technologies ASUS thinks they can handle the drive's noice and vibrations by using AFMII which changes the uneven airflow inside the drive.

BTW - It would be good to have some means to reset the remembered MID profile. Discs' properties from different plants vary a lot (made in Singapore vs. made in India, etc.).

i wonder if it is a re badged litty
can any one confirm?
