When it is necessary to have a storage system to be shared among many users, a good solution is a Network Attached Storage (NAS). A NAS is basically an external hard disk drive that can be shared throgh a network connection.
The AluBoxDuo LAN is a hard drive enclosure for up to two 3.5” SATA drives (supports up to 1024 MB and 10000RPM drives). It supports both USB 2.0 and LAN connection and then allow to build a custom NAS by manually installing hard disk drives. By buying separate components it is possible to create a NAS at a lower price.
At around $80 (about € 58), the AluBoxDuo LAN is one of the cheaper NDAS enclosures available in the market. The only negative issues noticed by the reviewer was the cooling of the disks (rather insufficient, mostly if two drives are installed on the box) and the noise level of the (insufficient) fan.

Wow, a full GB. I do hope that was to be 1024GB...1 TB.
