AnyDVD HD now with BD+ support (Press Release)
Antigua, West Indies - March, 19th 2008
Film studios that have switched to Blu-ray may have crowed a little too early because the much-praised BD+ copy protection is an ad absurdum affair now, too. With today's release of version 6.4.0.0 of AnyDVD HD it is now also possible to make backup security copies of Blu-ray discs protected with BD+.
Richard Doherty of the Envisioneering Group will have to revise his statement from July, 2007 regarding BD+: "BD+, unlike AACS which suffered a partial hack last year, won't likely be breached for 10 years". It is worth mentioning that since he made that statement only eight months have gone by.
Peer van Heuen, head of High-Definition technologies at SlySoft adds: "Admittedly, we are not really so fast with this because actually we had intended to publish this release already in December as promised. However, it was decided for strategic reasons to wait a bit for the outcome of the "format war" between HD DVD and Blu-ray. On top of that, we first wanted to see our assumptions confirmed about the in the meantime released BD+ titles regarding the BD+ Virtual Machine. We are rather proud to have brought back to earth the highly-praised and previously "unbreakable" BD+. However, we must also admit that the Blu-ray titles released up to now have not fully exploited the possibilities of BD+. Future releases will undoubtedly have a modified and more polished BD+ protection, but we are well prepared for this and await the coming developments rather relaxed". Van Heuen adds jokingly: "The worst-case scenario then is our boss locks us up with only bread and water in the company dungeon for three months until we are successful again".
Giancarlo Bettini, SlySoft CEO, adds, "We are convinced that today's release will give the high-density market new impulse. It remains unclear just what direction this will take. On the one hand, it can give Blu-ray a boost because the end-user has the certainty in knowing now that a backup security copy can also be made from Blu-ray disks protected by BD+. On the other hand, one or more film studios may want to reconsider their withdrawal from HD DVD and Toshiba could also grant the high-density DVD a reprieve. HD DVD certainly deserves a second chance, particularly since HD DVD hardware has obtained a higher market share within the last months than its BD counterpart from SONY. In any event, I wish all those involved a happy Easter from the bottom of my heart."

Yea DVD Fab is better since they yanked away HD off their product since the open sourced keys got blacklisted. Oh that is sarcasm. Go slysoft.

Hi,
As far as we know, there is no real crack for aacs on hddvd/blu-ray for now. So any product which claim to crack hddvd/blu-ray, may fail on future discs. It's not like css on dvd, if you break it, all future discs is supported, and we can release update for 3rd protections like arccos, etc. So we will not release a commercial product which claim to do something, but cannot promise to do it.
If there is real crack for hddvd/blu-ray, we will definitely add support for it.
Best Regards,
Fengtao
Now we see both Blu-ray & HD keys get revoked.
Is this the movies or is it the the actual drive that is revoked with the DVDFab HD program?
What action causes this revocation?
Is it possible to unrevoke it?
Should we just uninstall DVDFabHD for now?
yep I can really reall see how good dvdfab is thanks lol

More great work from Slysoft. I definitely deserve a very big congratulations from everyone. They've accomplished the impossible.
Pity that this annoucement had to be spoiled by a fanboy.

Well Done Slysoft!
To Dr.who,
'dvd fab no hd support, dvd fab no blueray support'
Correct statement would be no new volume of HD-Dvd and Blu-ray Supported. King-Kong HD is supported by Dvdfab Hd Decrypter but not Transformer HD DVD.
To Fengtao,
“As far as we know, there is no real crack for aacs on hddvd/blu-ray for now. So any product which claim to crack hddvd/blu-ray, may fail on future discs.” True enough but this why you have to update. For instance if you keep on waiting they will keep on releasing new MKB every here and there.
Point is to update Dvdfab HD Decrypter to support new MKB Keys!!
Also MKB must be updated once every 12 to 18 months regardless of there are revoked or not!

LOL, arrogance will get you nowhere!
Way to go Slysoft. If I ever do decide to get a HD player for PC, I will be sure to upgrade my DVD version of AnyDVD.

Blu-Ray Won! So, who cares about HD? I'll say it again DVDFab is Better!

> Blu-Ray Won! So, who cares about HD? I'll say it again DVDFab is Better! <
Why? Because it can't copy Blu-ray discs *at all*?
The "HD" in AnyDVD HD stands for "High Definition" (including Blu-ray), not HD DVD.

DVDFAB read the name dvd only fab as thats all it does and can handle.
dvd hd support erm ZERO
dvd Blueray support erm ZERO
bd+ support erm ZERO
see a pattern emerging here at all?
its been left behind its not even playing catch up anymore. If your sole purpose is to backup dvd`s then thats all that, that program can do its a very capable ripper. However it cannot be compared to anydvd anymore.
The give away is in the title "ANY DVD"
if you want click and rip for a dvd and your happy use it. Slysoft just pissed on the bonfire thats all.
should be called "dvd not so fab"

I made a typo in my previous comment. I accidentally somehow left out two key words.
The second sentence should have read, "I definitely _think they_ deserve a very big congratulations from everyone."

It is so funny that the introduction of anydvd hd capable to do what no other software can just to get spammed with many and I mean many dvd fab crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Allot of people said that cdfreaks was the best as they accept allot of different types of software openly but now days all I see is when there is a user with an issue that isn't using dvdfab they get told to. WTF?????? I think I may just start advertising competing software when there is help threads in the fab section sarcastically saying as I would never do so as I can careless of fabs issues.
I wonder if slysoft fanboys would flame like it is here if indeed dvdfab broke the code? No is the answer.

It does seem like there is a double-standard at times doesn't it, Dr. Who? Hmmm...
"The King is dead. Long live the King!" Slysoft has outdone themselves and they were already the king.

Sneakers,
It's too bad that most likely the only product that you have ever used is dvd fab & that is why you are saying that.
How can it be better when you can't even backup a bluray or hd movie. If you want respect you should think before speaking because what you have said makes no sense.

Let's use a comparison on a different scale.
Dvdfab doesn't help me when I want to watch original discs on my computer from other regions. dvdfab doesn't help me if I want to watch original HD-DVDs and Blu-ray on non-compliant HDMI hardware. Dvdfab doesn't offer subtitle transparency on the fly when I want to watch dvd movies. dvdfab does not decrypt on the fly, allowing me to use almost any other program I want--faster for almost all releases (with the exception of some of the newer Sony/Lionsgate releases; and for that Anydvd ripper since 6.1.4.2 now provides full disc backups with Shrink). dvdfab can't remove BD+. In terms of pure flexibility, Anydvd walks all over everything. Do you have to pay for that flexibility? Yes, you do. Are some people angry and upset about that? Yes, they are. Some people feel that anything that isn't freeware or "cheap" (which is a relative term) is an insult to the online community. Some people go as far as to lie and suggest Slysoft stole from the online community. The fact is Anydvd HD is the most versatile decrypter available to the Windows OS despite its small size and the tiny amount of system resources it uses. Also and the developers produced Anydvd on their own without having to steal code.
I am far from bashing or hating just some facts.

Blu-Ray is a waste of money imo I'm not paying twice as much no matter how good the damn picture is.

Posted by Patrick (guest) on Friday 21 March 2008 13:33
you are entitled to your opinion, but I don't agree with you, and with me many others (no1 best selling video is a blu ray disc at Amazon). I am willing to pay more than twice as much.

Posted by Pakratus on Friday 21 March 2008 14:03
I can't help think that if this were announced a month or 2 ago, it would have tipped the war towards HDDVD.
Just a thought.
Just a thought.

Posted by dvdfab (guest) on Friday 21 March 2008 15:09
thats why they didnt release it. It could of quite possibly ended a format war..

Posted by Guy Fawkes (guest) on Friday 21 March 2008 23:04
So, let me get this straight. This is a news story about AnyDVD breaking BD+ and a person posts saying DVDFab is better. When shown what AnyDVD can do that DVDFab doesn't the person then avoids admitting any of that and just says, "Blu-Ray is a waste of money imo I'm not paying twice as much no matter how good the damn picture is." Nice way to ignore the fact that you trolled the comment section with a completely worthless statement that had no relevance to the news story.
Keep up the great work, Slysoft.
