According to our statistics only 0.3% of our visitors visit our website using an Apple, so it seems it's not CD Freaks visitors who buy them, but Apple states that is has shipped nearly a half million SuperDrive"-equipped Macintosh computers last month and more than 2 million DVD-R media discs to date.
Apple first introduced its SuperDrive, a combination DVD-R/CD-RW drive, and its iDVD and DVD Studio Pro software applications in January 2001. The drives have since made their way into Apple's iMac computers, and the company's DVD-R media is now priced under $5 per disc.
All SuperDrive-equipped Macs include iDVD 2 software for creating DVDs that play in consumer DVD players, featuring the ability to create full-motion menu buttons and backgrounds.
