The company posted version 4.1.1 of iTunes to its Web site Wednesday. The version aims to remedy some initial glitches with the jukebox software Apple released last week. As previously reported, some Windows users were reporting bugs, including a problem that caused some Windows 2000 Professional machines to freeze after installing iTunes. "A few customers reported conflicts with specific PC configurations and we quickly updated the iTunes software in response," Apple said in a statement. "iTunes 4.1.1 addresses an isolated incompatibility with Windows 2000 and older third-party CD-burning software, as well as problems caused by corrupt MP3 files on some users' PCs." Customers who download iTunes from Apple's site will now get the updated version. By tomorrow, those who check for iTunes updates from within the program's "Help" menu will be directed to the 4.1.1 update. Over the next week, Apple plans to send a notification of the update to all Internet-connected users of iTunes for Windows. |
The article adds that the iTunes software for Windows has been downloaded more than 1 million times since its launch less than a week ago. If you're using the software you can get the updated version from the Apple website.
