ArcSoft announces support for NVIDIA® PureVideo™ HD technology (Press Release)
ArcSoft, Inc. announced that the ArcSoft Digital Theatre™ 2 video player now takes advantage of the PureVideo™ HD technology found in the NVIDIA GeForce® 7 and 8 Series of GPUs, including the latest GeForce 8400, GeForce 8500, and GeForce 8600 GPUs. Digital Theatre 2 is a breakthrough player that supports both HD DVD and Blu-ray playback, plus DVD movies and a variety of multimedia files. NVIDIA PureVideo HD technology is a combination of high-definition movie decode acceleration and post-processing, HDCP circuitry, and integration with high-definition movie players like Digital Theatre. PureVideo HD technology helps deliver the ultimate Blu-ray and HD DVD movie experience on PCs and notebook computers.

Available as a standalone application, Digital Theatre is also part of ArcSoft TotalMedia™ Extreme, an integrated software suite that contains four primary applications: Digital Theatre 2, TotalMedia Studio MV, TotalMedia Studio AV, and TotalMedia Backup & Record. The application suite provides video playback, video editing and authoring, data mastering, and backup solutions for virtually all optical media, including Blu-ray discs, HD DVDs, DVDs, and CDs.
