Moderator and Site Administrator, Liggy, along with Reviewer, reviewer, Moderator Dee-27 have just finished creating and testing a version of Binflash that now supports the popular new ND4550 drive.
Binflash is a collection of tools you may use in order to flash your NEC DVD burner with a binary firmware file (most executable flashers are also supported) or to dump the Flash ROM of your burner back to disc.
The following firmwares have been added NEC ND4550A firmware - 1.06, 1.06 with bitsetting patch and 1.27 NEC ND3520A firmware - 3.06 and 3.06 with bitsetting patch NEC ND3540A firmware - 1.f1 Big thanks go out to TDB for their help with the checksum routine on 4550 drives and to Dee for testing the 4550 support in Binflash and a lot of testing with my modified 4550 firmwares until bitsetting finally worked. |
Man I tell you...that's one monkey that doesn't know when to quit! Put out that cigarette - your gonna kill yourself with those things. Those of you CD Freaks that frequent the NEC forums can stop over at this thread to join in on the discussion with Liggy, Dee and The Dangerous Brothers concerning this latest release. They certainly have made the NEC drives a lot more fun to have and if you think of yourself as an enthusiast, then you will want to add this tool to your arsenal if you haven't done so already. Plenty of information about Binflash and also an array of different firmwares can be found at the links provided in the above quote.
