BlindWrite adds Blu-ray disc support in v6.0.8

BlindWrite, a game copy software that supports backing up a wide range of physical disc and disc image formats, has now been updated to version 6.0.8, which adds support for Blu-ray to allow 1:1 copying of Blu-ray discs.  This version also fixes a handful of bugs, including unicode support, a copy issue when making a second copy and a few GUI issues.  Version 6.0.8.91 fixes a bug with the CD / DVD write speed setting.

Note that as BlindWrite is a 1:1 copy tool and does not decrypt content, if you plan backing up protected Blu-ray movie discs you will need a decrypter, such as AnyDVD HD for this.  For a 1:1 copy, the destination disc must be of at least the source capacity and can be either BD-R (write-once) or BD-RE (rewritable).  VSO recommends reusing BD-RE media instead of BD-R media when creating test discs due to the high price of BD-R media.  VSO has tested this version against several Blu-ray burners from LG, Plextor, Pioneer and the Matsushita BD-MLT UJ-225S laptop drive.

The changelog for 6.0.8.90 is as follows:

  • Fix a copy issue when making a second copy
  • [Feature Request] Caption, hint and menu items are not displayed correctly when language selected in application it's not the same of OS language.
  • [Bug] WebUpdate DialogBoxes strings not updated after language switch
  • [Bug] When swiching to 'Read' tab with a user whose name uses double-byte characters, the output path displays 'Documents' only.
  • [Bug] v6.0.7.86 ßeta: New interface has blank/black square
  • [Suggestion] Image Option
  • [Bug] v6.0.4.36: Extraction Failed when using COPY option

The complete changelog for previous versions can be viewed on this page.

This latest version can be obtained from VSO Software here.  Feel free to discuss about this version in this dedicated thread on our forum.
