CD Freaks presents: Helios HVD2085 HD upscaling DVD-Player review

Senior Moderator, reviewer and news editor Seán has posted a review on the NeoDigits Helios HVD2085 DVD-Player. This is an upscaling DVD player and an improved version of the NeuNeo HVD2085 DVD-Player.

Upscalers work by using sophisticated interpolation on the picture during the resampling process in an aim to eliminate the side effects of stretching the image to a higher resolution conversion and thus it's very important that a device like this is tested on picture quality which can be found in the Hi-Def upscaling performance tests.
Besides these tests, also features, usability and advanced tests are described and performed.

Since our last review of a NeoDigits upscaling DVD player, the company has since replaced the player with a new rebranded model featuring several improvements over the NeuNeo HVD2085 we last reviewed.  Even though the next generation of blue-laser high definition players are beginning to enter the market, so far their current pricing is well outside of what is affordable for the average consumer.  However, as HDTV beginning to sell quite rapidly, this makes it an ideal time to get the most out of DVDs, while making use of the TV's high definition capabilities through the use of a HD upscaling DVD player.

For everyone in the market for a HD upscaling DVD player this review is a valuable source of information. Read the entire on the Helios HVD2085 DVD-Player now! We would also like to invite you to discuss this review and add your comments and views on this player here

CDanI wish people would stop using the term "HD upscaling", cause there's really no such thing. HD video and DVD-video are different things entirely. It's just misleading for the uninformed. You cannot make a HD video image out of a DVD-video image.

tylauI am not interested in things like upscale-downscale video on an average HDTV display. Wink
