Long time Reviewer and Moderator Tor Magne, better known as OC-Freak to those of us that frequent the forums, has just completed his in-depth look at this new drive from Lite-On. Considering this is a 16x DVD+/-R DVD-writer that also offers DVD-R Dual layer and DVD+R Double layer writing , this drive should be of interest.

As we can clearly see in the retail box shot above, this drive comes with an extra bezel which is nice. Not only that, but Lite-On has bundled both PowerDVD 5 and Nero Express 6.6 software Cd's along with this unit. Here's a small part of what Tor states in his review conclusion about this burner: "The Lite-On SHW-1635S is a very good CD-writer. They have also greatly improved the DVD-writing quality and at 8x the quality is very good. The Lite-On SHW-1635S is also a fast CD-reader, an excellent Audio CD-reader and also reads DVD+/-R at 16x."
