CD Master Clone vs. CloneCD

CDRsoft.info has an article about CloneCD compared to new software that should do the same; CD Master Clone. This software still needs the right hardware, but according to the article is easier to use.

The software gives less information about the hardware and has less settings, so experienced users will probably prefer CloneCD if they had to choose. The test has been done with someone that had no experience with burning protected CDs and he prefered CD Master Clone, well read it and make your conclusion.

CD-Master Clone does RAW copies, so it really creates 1:1 copies, without changing any info onto the CD ! That is anohter plus point for CD-Master Clone So if you just started with CDR related topics, and just bought your burner, I would suggest to buy CD-Master Clone instead of CloneCD !

The handling of CD-Master Clone is much easier compared to CloneCD ! So for the newbies out there, it should be choice no.1 for cloning tasks It is a shame, that there isn´t any demo version of CD-Master Clone available !If this point changes, you will be the first to know. Only the onlineshop from bhv and some german stores are offering this gem.

But beware:

The buy of CD-Master Clone only repays if your burner supports the RAW DAO method. and if you plan to make copies of SafeDisc 2 protected CDs your burners needs to support the correct EFM encoding of regular bit patterns. Sounds a little weird, but Oliver Kastl (CloneCD coder) put a list online, telling you which burner is supporting this two modes, and which not.

Look for your burner and the correct model, and check the field: Best Supported Write Mode
If you see RAW-DAO in this field, your burner is surely able to make working copies of SafeDisc 1
protected games ! Check now the field correct EFM encoding of regular bit patterns. If you see there a green dot, your burner is able to make working copies of SafeDisc 2 protected games !

If your burner supports both methods, you can buy CD-Master Clone without any risc !

Now why the fuck would someone want to buy a program that you don't even know if it is gonna work with your hardware... sheeez! And you can't even try it first to see if it works??? And let me get this right, your steering newbies in this direction??? Oh! I get it now. They are the only ones who would buy this stuff... Yep your right!

For all the german speaking people, read this test on PC-Welt: http://www.pcwelt.de/tests/software-tests/sonstiges/19632/ For the rest, here is a short version of the test results from 23.10.2001: CD Master Clone is a bad joke (!). So, go ahead and (don't) buy it!!!
