Well Vstrip is the best and if you go to doom9's page and d/l thier DVD2SVCD pack. about 5 mb, then you can use vstrip without typing in a bunch of command lines. The interface will do it for you. And if you get ahold of the retail version 
of CCE for $4,000 you can make the most excellant SVCD on the market.
