Copy any SafeDisc 2 game ?
Submitted by: Chaos72
Well if this works, it's good news, if it doesn't work, then feel free to post below, we were not able to test it !
WORKAROUND to make VALID WORKING copy of RA2,and any safedisc 2 protected game !!
WITH CDRWIN
1) Select EXTRACT DISK/TRACKS/SECTORS to IMAGE FILE
a) Disk Image/cueSheet
b) RAW Reading (2352)
c) ABORT ERROR RECOVERY
d) jitter and subcode AUTO
e) Retry 5
f) data and audio 1x
2) Start copy and write down the STARTING SECTOR (0) and THE ENDING SECTOR.
3) The process stops after a while BUT it creates a valid CUESHEET to be used in future.
4) RE-Select EXTRACT DISK/TRACKS/SECTORS to IMAGE FILE
a) SELECT SECTORS (insert sectors START and END in apposite fields)
b) File Format INTEL or AUTOMATIC
c) DATA TYPE -AUDIO- (2352)
d) ABORT ERROR RECOVERY
e) Jitter DISABLED
f) DATA and AUDIO SPEED at 1x (otherwise the copy probably won't work!!)
g) RETRY 5
h) FILE NAME you must use the same name as for CUESHEET but with the .ISO extension !!
5) RECORD DISK from the CUESHEET created before.
I tested with my TEAC-55S and it works...LIKE ORIGINAL...INSTALLS AND RUNS !
USE GOOD CD-R DISC AND THE COPY WILL WORK IN EVERY CD-ROM !!!!
|
Well if it didn't work, it DID keep you from the streets !
This is ofcourse only for backup purposes !

i tested with 3.7 but it works also with new versions.
The important is that your burner support the AUDIO (2352) format !
cdrom READERS supportin this type of read are FOR SURE PLEXTOR ULTRAPLEX 32X
PLEXTOR 12/20
TEAC 532S
Burners :
TEAC 55S
Burners that doesn't support..
I don't know for sure...old model 4x,yamaha and panasonic,won't work
I know that with this method and my teac i copied: HALF-LIFE opposing force,TIBERIAN SUN,RED ALERT2,SHOGUN TOTALWAR,UNREAL TOUNAMENT...
IF YOUR READER-BURNER support this method you are luky !!
A TRICK..read down at 1 or 2x,and WRITE at 2x or 4x MAX !!

man that alot of step to do a single cd i will just run it in my burner. I don't care if it don't work in my cd-rom cause the burner does the job perfectly

Yeah but if u want 2 sell ur copies oops! did i say that? i meant um... ahem...
By

Wednesday 08 November 2000 21:26
this will only work if you have a burner that can burn errors. like the teac 55s or the hacked 56s or 58s. ricoh 6200 and 6201 also. this is the old school way to burn error protected disks. and it always has worked for my ricoh 6201s and teac 532s with just about ANY software. i used to use diskjuggler and cdrwin with these older drives. this method is strictly hardware dependent.

This method also worked on the old Safedisc games. I guess the protection hasn't changed that much.....
Not all burners and readers support this method, PLEXTOR DOES!
For RA2, why don't you just crack your exe....this works perfectly...

It works!!!!
it WOrks!!!!!!!
Thank man!!!!

fine,
that is no the real solution for it, it doesn't matter if you copy the safedisc 2.0 with discjuggler or clonecd.
With the corect writer (Pleyxtor) it will work in any cdrom, with other writers it MAY work in any cdrom.
No need to do it that way,
just make a plain copy, reading sectores with 2x burning with 4x, and it will work also :-)

plz pay attention.
The italian encarta is protected with safedisc 2.0
if u install a working copy or the original cd it makes some modify io think in the registry.
if u remove installation and install from a non working copy, it 'll still run cause your registry(?) has already been fixed by the workin one

NumberOne, you have registered Cdrwin with a blacklisted serial number.
You should get a valid one, i.e. buying CDRWIN :-P

If U get a cd with the name CD
and U can't see any files, the reason is that your burner doesn't support that type of data..SORRY !!
Doesn't matter If Your burner is in CLONECD compatible list...TEAC55S is not listed BUT with this method WORKS !
I'm working with a WORKAROUND to make a 1:1 copy of SECUROM,but my limitation is the amount of burners that i can use to test IDEAS !
SO...if i found a workaround also for SECUROM i'll POST here !

I have a plextor 8432 (ide) and it doesnt work (yet?)
the first part works.
in the second part I can select audio 2352 (does that mean my burner supports it?)
I see part 1 created a redalert1.cue file.
should I just enter redalert1.iso as filename or must i open the cue file somewhere?
I do now and I get:
error: unable to read audio sectors 0 to 26 on device 0:0:0
illegal command request (04h 00h 02h 05h 64h 00h)
??????

Hi there people, I just want to say that the safedisc v2 protection failes.. I've already copied Red alert 2 but not with cdrwin or watherver, just use clone cd!!
tips to use:
-read in at 2x
-put 'read subchannel data' "on"
-put 'read subchannel audio tracks ' "on"
-fast skip error -- hardware mode
Than Write:
-just write at your max but don't forget to put on "Don't repair subchannel data"
My both discs work fine, and I don't have any problems!!!
If it doesn't work please react..

CloneCD might work but DAMN!! is it a long process if you use the above settings. I sure hope it does work cause it's taken me 20 mins to do 1%. Why dont these ass holes just give up and stop putting protection on discs to save us guys time. We get them anyway but they just make us waste our valueable time. FUCK THEM!!!
By
Unknown,
Friday 10 November 2000 19:59
Hmm..
I've got CDRWIN 3.8b:
I did everything like is was discribed.. but: the process doesn't stop!
it reads to 100% and tells me that everything went ok...
fist thing.
second: i don't know how to create an .ISO - file!
it always creates .BIN files!
What do I make wrong ?!
By
Unknown,
Saturday 11 November 2000 00:07
When it takes 20 minutes to get 1% than something is very wrong!!! I don't know what you're doing but that isn't ok!!
Then: I don't know what you're doing wrong.. When you finished your reading session, it normally creates 3 files, image files.. You have to write from them. But bin files?? I don't know how to solve that problem!

hey... if your like me and dont mind having to run a batch file after installing your pirated copy then do as follows and forget all this complicated crap!
first go to:
http://www.gamecopyworld.com
http://www.megagames.com
and download a cd copy crack. copy all the files off the cd to a dir on your hdd and then put the crack in a dir in that dir together with some batch to implement it automatically and then burn the whole thing.
it has worked for years with my creative 4424e and still works now!
ps. dont try to replace the original exe on the game disk! this is copied over by the installer in a funny way - the crack must be implemented later!

I have managed to copy red alert 2 buy using a combination of dirrerent software although i have a cd reader and writer not able to read raw data, i have a 'hitachi dvd-rom gd 2500' and a 'philips pcdrw404' but still got it to work
first of all i used Blindread to read the disc to an image file, i then used 'Daemon 2.41 ' and mounted that image to a phantom cd rom . then i used clone cd to burn the disk with the phantom cd rom as the source drive.
i had fast skip errors , dont report read errors and intelagent bad sector selected. Read subchannel data and audio were not selected, i read at 4X speed and wrote at max.
i hope this helps some of you, i was supprized as my hitachi dirve ( i think ) cant read subchanel data,

The_Butler,
What is 'Daemon 2.41'?
And where can I get it?
By
Unknown,
Tuesday 14 November 2000 18:32
to axl
Daemon 2.41 is a virtal cdrom drive where an image copied onto your hard drive and be mounted and will appear as an extra drive on the device manager, and runs like any other cd rom drive
you get it at
http://www.daemon-tools.com
its a good way of testing the image before burning

to Netterman & others
there is a mistake in the advice :
h) FILE NAME you must use the same name as for CUESHEET but with the .ISO extension !!
must be modify to :
with the .BIN extension !!
but i test it with one of my CDR (non protected):
* First did the image as suggested
* Second test the image with
DAEMON last version & CDMAGE last version
* It doesn't work !!
may be my cd writer is not able to read a CDR using audio methods
may be this method is wrong

Did you use the default Blind Read settings? (iso, nibble, adapt speed, etc.)
