Cyberlink launched PowerProducer 5, a package that allows the creation of Blu-ray Discs and DVDs featuring video content recorded in the AVCHD format. The disc authoring software is available in two versions, PowerProducer 5 and PowerProducer 5 Ultra. With these products Cyberlink tries to offer us solutions that can help us with our 'connected digital lifestyle'.

PowerProducer 5 Ultra lets users create high-quality professional looking discs on Blu-ray Discs and DVDs. It also supports the AVCHD format, which makes it possible to create DVDs featuring highly compressed high-definition content. PowerProducer 5 (DVD) is definitely offering less than the 'Ultra-version', since this one only supports the creation of customized menu designs for DVDs and VCDs. Through their online press room Cyberlink announces that PowerProducer 5 has made major improvements when it comes to product usability. They did this by changing the design and restyling the interface.

"Now with the release of CyberLink PowerProducer 5, it is not only the Hollywood studios that can produce high-quality discs like Blu-ray Discs and AVCHD DVDs," said Alice H. Chang, CEO of CyberLink.
