Kris Schoofs has left us a message this morning with some great news. He has updated his DVD Identifier program with some major improvements, including next-generation Blu-ray support! Here is a description of his software from the DVD Identifier home page:
DVD Identifier retrieves and interprets the pre-recorded information that is present on dvd media (DVD+R, DVD+R DL, DVD+RW, DVD-R, DVD-R DL, DVD-RW and DVD-RAM) and also on Blu-ray media (BD-R and BD-RE). This information contains a variety of parameters such as disc manufacturing information and supported write speeds. Even though this information is usually printed on the packaging, the brand name may differ from the actual manufacturer or sometimes there might not even be any packaging information at all.
To summarize : DVD Identifier offers a reliable method of accurately identifying the disc's real manufacturer.
