De Vos & Partners - II

Today we received mail from another dealer that got mail from De Vos & Partners (Dutch lawyers or a funny guy, we still don't know). This time it's another mail then the previous one ! And again with a spelling mistake (infringments, should be: infringements). Maybe they couldn't pay for a MS word with spell check (yes, that is expensive, tell us here at CD Freaks, you should almost buy a pirated copy, right ? )

Who sends these mails, and why, we still don't know, if you have more information on this case, please post below or send mail to us at [mail]dozi2000@hotmail.com[2]dozi2000@hotmail.com[/mail]

Also note that several dealers have told us that they received this mail, but didn't have a CD from one of the companies below in their collection (of backups)!
Dear Sirs,

My client Dutch National Association of Publishers (Nederlands Uitgeversverbond / NUV) has noticed that you offer for sale and/or make available computer programs published by NUV-members.

In doing this, you commit a tortuous act towards the NUV-members involved, and more in particular you infringe their copyrights.

As a result, my client and its members involved suffer damages, now and in the future. On behalf of my client and its members I hold you liable for this loss.

My client and its members do not tolerate such infringments. I therefore demand that you immediately cease and desist from offering for sale, selling, making available or any other way of reproducing or distributing the computer programs of my client and its members, and to confirm this to me within 24 hours after receiving this message.

If you do not comply with this demand, my client and its members reserve all their rights, including the right to file a claim in legal proceedings for compensation of all losses sustained.

Yours sincerely, J. Lensink

I prefer; DEAD

I had a close look at this site, and there is a link to some antipiracy site.
Look for yourself at their page under "Webgids". When you open this page there is a big banner with e-mail-link.
If you look closely under this big red banner, there is an "c" mark. This redirects to the devos.nl site. Maybe someone should call them and ask for this J. Lensink guy.

damn. seems real to me

If you click on the 'advocaten' link on the main page, you'll see who all the lawyers are at the firm. One of them is: Joris Lensink.
So perhaps someone is pretending to be him by getting the information from this webpage, but it could well be true.
