Disney's Magical Blu-ray tour might come to you

Last year Walt Dinsey came with the Disney Magical Blu-ray tour. The tour seems to go to seven more cities in North America. It aims to educate me and you about the 'amazing capabilities' of Blu-ray.

Disney's demonstrations will be given through hands-on kiosks, interactive presentations and a theater. At the theater consumers can experience all the posibilities starting in Toronto last Thursday. Main goal behind these presentations is awareness around the product, and 'buzz'.

Secondly it gives context to the Blu-ray product, since many still don't know what it is.

Context..... as in the player you buy today will be obsolete soon. Will they explain to consumers that the blu-ray players they buy today will be obsolete in Oct/Nov, they won't support the new BR 2.0 spec that BR association will be touting very loudly once its available, and the players cannot be upgraded ? PS3 is the only future-proof BR player. Oh how I can't wait for that situation to blow-up in BR's face !

CDanWhat this really says is that there are huge profits to be had in BluRay, and that consumers aren't buying it. "Context"........ puke
