EMI's DRM-free music to be available through PassAlong Networks
In a further move towards common sense, PassAlong Networks have announced that they are to host the DRM-free full catalogue of EMI Music.

There's a lot of market-speak and business jargon contained in the press release here on marketwire, but essentially it means that high quality 320 kbps downloads of the EMI artists of the past will be available very soon. No mention of exactly when, but we will try and keep you posted on CD Freaks.

Seeing as we are talking about back-catalogues, for comparison it should be borne in mind that the price of new or second-hand CDs of many artists is often quite low these days. Of course there are always no DRM, and you are buying the full uncompressed digital information rather than someone else's compression efforts. I guess the maxim "You pays your money and you takes your choice..." is never better illustrated.
