This year's Media-Tech Expo will be held three days in Frankfurt, Germany. At the beginning of May the event will start, but right now they already make headlines. 'Live BD50 manufacturing at tech expo'. We can say that the Media-Tech expo is the only live equipment show in 2008 to focus on Blu-ray Disc.
Why would a tech expo want to show live BD manufacturing? It's expected that the overall demand in Blu-ray products will grow this year. To answer this demand 120 product lines are needed in the next two years. Singulus and Anwell Precision Technologies have announced that they have plans to demonstrate working Blu-ray machines. You will have the opportunity to witness realtime dual layer BD manufacturing with media produced right on the show's floor.
"Other companies will have working demonstrations of every stage of the Blu-ray Disc manufacturing process from authoring and encoding, through mastering, pressing and printing to quality control and packaging," says Bryan Ekus, managing director of the Media-Tech Association, "and this will be the show that enables anyone with any interest in BD and BD50 production to get up to speed on the technology and market forces behind it."
Let's hope they will invite us, so that we can do some coverage from the floor. ;)
