FireBurner 2.05 released for Windows and *LINUX*
As reported a few days ago a new FireBurner would be available soon and here it is... There are now two versions: a Windows version and a LINUX version!

FireBurner is now truly a cross-platform application!

Porting the code flushed out many bugs and design flaws that would not have otherwise been discovered. The changes are too numerous to mention as I have had to nearly completely rewrite the burning core. The Linux version has been heavily tested as I and others have burned numerous CD's with it. There is one limitation to the Linux Edition, it can't burn MP3 on the fly yet.

The Linux and Windows versions share critical portions of code. This has allowed me to get a rough benchmark of Windows vs. Linux performance. Preliminary results are that my little PII 350 running Linux puts my 1 GHZ processor to shame running Win 2K.

You can imagine the amount of planning and effort that has gone into this project. Please support my efforts by registering your copy of FireBurner!
