A couple of
members of our forums have posted their experiences with their Plextor
PX-716A drive in a thread in our Plextor
Forum. This is Plextor's 16x DVD+R/DVD-R and 4x DL DVD+R/-R
drive. As always expectations for Plextor drives are high and it's up to
the Japanese to live up to the hype. We could maybe say that it's currently the
most anticipated drive on the market.
Many threads on our forums have been
discussing the drive in advance and many CD Freaks are looking to purchase
one. Some of our forum members were lucky and got one. You can read their
experiencies in this thread, we would like to invite you to share your
experiences as well so we get a full overview of this drive, this way you also
help other members to make their purchasing decisions.

I'll be waiting a while before parting with my money.
I think Plextor needed this drive to work well straight out of the box. The 16X DVD burner market is hotting up.
NEC, Benq/Philips and Pioneer drives work well straight out the box,
Plextors are more expensive and need to justify the extra asking price. From what i see so far, it needed to be better.

I will wait till there are more negative reviews before I give up on the PX-716A. Till then I am Very hopeful that things will change for the better soon.......

I thought November??

If and when -R DL functionaltity is added, it will be 2x not 4.
Unlikely to be this side of xmas.
The November date you are thinking of is probably the 8x +RW update for this drive.
