First portable HDTV from China

A Chinese company called aigo announced that they will be the first to offer USB TV dongles that are compatible with European HDTV standards. Last April the company came with a dongle for the Chinese market, but now also Europeans will have the chance to watch high-definition directly on their laptops and PCs.

By plugging the dongle into the USB port of your desktop or portable video player you will wirelessly capture HD programming. In China consumers will be able to watch their Olympics live in high quality and with an expected 15 million local watchers this could be massive. "Just in time for the Beijing Olympic Games, people across China, and now also in Europe, will have access to live HDTV on their laptops and portable video players,” said aigo President and Founder Feng Jun. “With this new technology, you’ll see people cheering for Olympic athletes from cafés, from taxis, from everywhere.”

Although it's a long time ago since I cheered for an athlete, I believe this will work and is fun.
