Grokster releases Pro version, removes ad and spyware
Grokster, one of the popular file sharing networks based on the FastTrack P2P protocol has announced that it will release a Pro version of its software. Users who will pay $ 19.95 will receive the Pro version that comes without any ads and/or adware.

The release of the "clean" version of Grokster comes in response to a growing user demand and willingness to pay for a version of the software that is void of annoying pop-up ads and the cluster of optional software programs that accompany all of the major P2P software clients on the market today. According to Grokster president, Wayne Rosso, "Although Grokster is free software, the only way that we can afford to give it away is by utilizing advertising and software bundling. But with Grokster Pro we can offer the user a better experience at a reasonable price that still allows us to pay our bills."

In a suit brought against Grokster by the RIAA and the MPAA, last April US Federal Circuit Court ruled against the entertainment industry and deemed Grokster to be in compliance with all US laws and a completely legal piece of software. Now now Borgster!... I downloaded Kazaa KMD - the ads aren't that all intruding - especially if u ditched P2P Point Manager after installing KMD. Once in a while you might get 1 popup reminding you to download latest release of P2P networking. Anyway, I got a simple C++ program that kills off all applications I don't want to run at startup. biggrin

there is already a spyware and adfree version of grokster, it's a little difficult to get, but it's out there - on fasttrack and on some http sites, go to zeropaid, they posted about it some time ago.
