After the successful realization of the single-user and multi-user(network) versions of Virtual CD v5 the firm H+H Software GmbH takes the next step with the file server edition of Virtual CD.
Based on the multi-award winning software Virtual CD v5, Virtual CD FS lets you share virtual CDs and DVDs in a file server in a network. Thus all attached clients have access to the desired data with only an economical file server license.

This doesn't just pertain to the technical efficiency but also to the simple handling and administration of the software,' explains Hartmut Stoepler, Managing Director of Marketing and Sales, referring to the user-friendly interface adapted from Virtual CD v5.
Using the well-known Virtual CD v5 user interface, CD- / DVD-Images are available in shared virtual drives in the network and can be accessed by authorized users who have the proper Windows access rights. Through its high compatibility Virtual CD FS can give access to nearly 100% of all Data-CDs und '“DVDs over the network. Virtual CD FS profits from the experience gained in many years of software development in the area of optimized driver technology.
'žOwing to the current hard disk prices and storage capacities hardware based CD-ROM-Server and similar solutions are no longer economical. Not only high maintenance work but also low data throughput force customers to look for better solutions, ' remarks Product Manager Alexander Vierschrodt. Thereby he takes reference to both the high access speed, corresponding to that of a hard disk, and the high data throughput of the Virtual CD product line.
Since the software can be used as a reliable service, you can implement it in business environments. No login has to be carried out after a restart of the server; the CDs and DVDs are immediately at the disposal of all users after the start.
Virtual CD FS is available as of July 1, 2003 for 499.-Euro. The price includes a license for the installation on the file server as well as a further license for the administrator's PC.
