Hand held DVD player from Hammacher Schlemmer

Kudos to the folks over at I4U for spotting this nifty little DVD player. No bigger than the CD players of old, this thing looks like a fun gadget to have. The device features a built-in 3 1/2" LCD, full color resolution, simple controls and an easily navigable onscreen menu. It comes with a fold-out stand, and plays for 21 hours on a single charge of its battery pack. The DVD player connects to any television via included AV cables, so you can watch your favorite films during hotel stays.

This unit from Microtek is up for grabs at the Hammacher website for 250 bucks. It also includes a remote control, AC adapter, car power-port adapter, carrying bag, headphones, and sun visor to diminish LCD washout. Also plays CDs and MP3 CDs. Phyisical dimensions are listed as 1 3/4" H x 6" Diam. (1 1/2 lbs.) pretty cool.

Have just seen an advert on Canadian childrens TV for a unti very similar called, I think, 'Video Now'. TV ad did not mention cost of the unit. Smilie
