The GSA-4081B was released
just before Christmas time but Hitachi-LG (HLDS) has already announced its
successor, the GSA-4082B. While the GSA-4081B burned DVD+R/RW at 8x/4x speed and
DVD-R/RW at "only" 4x/2x speed the new GSA-4082B enables the faster 8x/4x speed
for the DVD-R/RW format too.
GSA-4082B was
developed in collaboration with related companies, by gathering all of the
companies' latest technologies for overall development from key components
to the product itself. The key technologies developed in order to realize
this product are as follows. In addition, it inherits from its predecessor
other technologies for stable writing, such as the LD driver with highly
reliable write strategy built-in and buffer under-run prevention function.
Compact and high power
optical pick up for 8x write A high power laser allowing
high-speed recording is embedded. Its unique heat radiation structure
acquires high speed and stabilization, realizing high performance.
1 chip LSI (DSP) for 8x
write Accomplished speeding up the
already high-speed high function LSI (DSP) developed for the conventional
products that process all formats (DVD-RAM/R/RW, DVD+R/RW, DVD-ROM,
CD-R/RW, CD-ROM). High-precision LD power
learning control for 8x write By adopting the newly developed high-precision LD power control learning method which applied DVD-RAM's LD power learning method, the quality of recording at 8x is secured. |
