Ignition (CD burning optimizer for CopyToDVD) has been updated

Kyle_Katarn used our news submit to tell us that Ignition v2.1 has been released. This frontend for CopyToDVD optimizes the way CD/DVD (data and audio) are burnt, in order to minimize the space wasted on every media.

  • Support 650,700 Mb CDs + custom sizes (for overburning)
  • Automatically create folders for each optimized CD or create a TXT file that contains the optimized list of each CD's content.
  • Ability to put a bunch of files on every media (autorun, codecs...)
  • Ability to burn CDs (requires CopyToDVD)

  • More information about this tool can be found here. Also be sure to download and rate  CopyToDVD.

It is a tool very similar to "Burn to the Brim" read here for a proper explanation: http://bttb.sourceforge.net/

It isn't so much a frontend as a separate program. The only thing you need CopyToDVD for is if you want to burn directly from the program. You can very well just use it to rearrange the files for best fit and then use another software to burn them.

Well, at least this is how it USED to work. Now, for any worthwhile file copying, you will need to own CopyToDVD. Otherwise, all you can get are file lists. While with some good programming or DOS Batch file writing you could make use of these file lists, otherwise it is a pain.
