JVC introduces 'YouTube camcorder'

You know the drill, you shoot your videos with your camcorder and then have to go through the hassle of getting it on your PC, edit it and then put it on something to show it to others. Of course you can burn it to a CD, DVD or copy it to a USB stick, but the internet is a more convenient way to make your content available to others. JVC has recognized this and with their latest camcorder, the GZ-MS100, part of the Everio S-series, you can publish your movies on Youtube with one touch of the button.

This camera features a Konica Minolta lens that can zoom 35x, has a 2.7 inch LCD and laser touch buttons, so you can just operate it by sliding your fingers over them. Recordings will be stored on an SD card, which is claimed to be for cost saving reasons.

For the Youtube functionality it is able to record up to 10 minutes of content (10 minutes is a Youtube limit). Once done it's a matter of connecting the camcorder to a PC, pressing the upload button and the camcorder will lauch an application that will upload the movie to Youtube.

The JVC Everio S Series GZ-MS100 will become available in June for $349.99, which is $100 cheaper than JVC's budget G-Series camcorders.

DukeNukemYouTube? People still go to that site? 99% of the videos are so compressed that they're hardly watchable. I hope JVC delivers these things because most YouTube users are shut-ins. What do people who avoid social contact want with a camcorder? Who the hell are they gonna film? Their cats?
