KaZaA Tap 1.01 (KaZaA tool) released

iHaV0FrNdS used our newssubmit to tell us that there is new software to remove the spy and adware from KaZaA.

Because KaZaA has been in the news a lot, because of their ad and spyware there was KaZaA lite, now there is KaZaA Tap, that does the same and more:

Technical Info:

KaZaa Tap blocks all Ads and Spyware before they are ever downloaded! KaZaa Tap v1.01 uses 3 different methods for blocking spyware/ads: Host, DLL, Cache. For the security of this product, I will not elaborate on the methods used. These methods are all possible without illegally modifying a single line of KaZaa's code (no cracking involved), so the integrity of the KaZaa program still remains.

By modifying the Registry, KaZaa Tap unlocks many hidden things in KaZaa:

You are able to search and download MP3s that are higher quality than the currently limited 128kb format. Feel free to leech 192kb MP3s!

Disables your computer from being a KaZaa "Supernode" (this means your computer's bandwidth is used for other people's searches.

Besides that, KaZaa Tap also tweaks the registry to allow UNLIMITED number of search results, instead of the default locked 100 results.

KaZaa Tap also removes the stupid buttons from the KaZaa interface.

On top of all that, KaZaa Tap adds QUICK search functions to the system tray!

If you disable Supernode wont there be less hits on a certain file because people will use this tool?

what incredible nonsense! it's not worth the buck. I block the kazaa start page/shop with webwasher, everything else is deactivated by kazaa lite anyway (cydoor etc.). and for the tweaks in the registry I don't need a programme, I can type "regedit" myself

you must understand, that the mass of people out there would like to use 'all-in-one' solutions ('cause they're easier, more comfortable etc.)

yes, it is compatible with klite. although kazaa lite removes the spyware and such, you may not have made the HOST file to block ads from kazaa, which kazaa lite by itself cannot do. you have to make it u'rself, and it's quite tedious for beginners. kazaa tap does it for you. it's that easy.
