KaZaA sues BUMA/Stemra ('dutch RIAA')

Last week we reported about the lawsuit that was filed against the populair file sharing service KaZaA. But now KaZaA hits back. According to an article in WebWereld KaZaA has sued the BUMA Stemra now. For those who don't know: this is the dutch RIAA. They say the Buma/Stemra is abusing their monopoly in music market.

KaZaA had some serious talks with the BUMA. They almost had an agreement, but last week the BUMA stopped all talks with KaZaa.

BUMA says it has nothing to do with the lawsuit filed against KaZaa by the RIAA. But Niklas Zennstré¶m, CEO van KaZaA thinks not.

Why doesn't the music industry cooperate with KaZaa?? Isn't that just what they want?
