LG BH200 Blu-ray / HD DVD player goes on sale

Those who have deep pockets and want to take advantage both Blu-ray and HD-DVD formats without two extra boxes under the TV may be interested in LG's latest multi-format player, the BH200, which has now gone on sale.  It natively supports both formats including full HD DVD support as being ready for Blu-ray's upcoming BD Profile 1.1 in 2008.

Like the higher end Blu-ray and HD DVD players, it features 1080p output, component video, HDMI 1.3, USB ports and network connectivity.  For existing DVDs, the player features Qdeo video processing from Marvell, as well as noise reduction and colour precision.  For HD and SD video, the player also features per-pixel noise and compression artefact reduction, contrast improvement technology for dark scenes, motion-adaptive 3D de-interlacing and SimpLink connectivity (with compatible equipment).

One significant drawback however is the price to pay with the BH200 Super Blu player on sale for around $1,000.

Further info can be read in this source InfoSync article.  This PC World report gives some hands on experience about the player.
