Part of conclusion:

LG's new DVD writer performed pretty well throughout most of our tests. With some of the new DVD-RW and DVD+RW drives starting to offer 4x writing speeds, the GMA-4020B does have a slight disadvantage. However, its 2x DVD-R writing speeds let us write 4GB of data in a little more than 26 minutes. My only disappointment was the GMA-4020B's DVD-RAM writing performance. While LG rates the drive's DVD-RAM writing speed at 2x, we saw an average writing speed of less than 1x. The GMA-4020B did better in our DVD read tests. The drive had no problems reading single layer DVD's at 10x, but had to slow down slightly for other types of media.
