LG GSA-4120B to support 12x DVD+R, 5x DVD-RAM and DVD+R DL

We posted some information about the LG GSA-4120B in January but now more details about this 12x DVD burner have showed up. At the IT Korea 2004 exhibition held in Seoul 8-11 April LG displayed the GSA-4120B and unveiled the following specifications:

LG GSA-4120B preliminary specs
Write speed
DVD+R DL 2.4x
DVD+R/RW 12x/4x
DVD-R/RW 8x/4x
DVD-RAM 5x
CD-R/RW 40x/24x
Read speed
DVD-ROM 16x
CD-ROM 40x               

 

So it looks like this "Super Multi Double Layer" burner will be able to read and write all formats you could possibly think of, not bad! LG said in March that the GSA-4120B is scheduled to be released in late June. I hope LG has fixes the bad DAE ripping of the previous drive and improves the cd-writing quality. Till now all their DVD-writers could not write CD-R with the same quality of their CD-writers.SmilieSmilie
