We did expect a denial or confirmation soon. After a few rumors we can now say that a new denial just came in from the software giant. It seems that the company isn't interested in using a Sony product for their game console. Many have said that all Playstations are bought because of the Blu-ray player, and not because of its gaming experience. In an e-mail to a GamePro staff member, a Microsoft spokesman seems to agree with this. "Games are what drive consumers to purchase game consoles, and we remain focused on providing the largest library of blockbuster games available," he said in a reaction.
After DigiTimes' announcement last Friday many thought that Microsoft will finally say 'yes', and stop its denial-spree. After rumors that Pegatron had obtained an assembling job for Blu-ray fitted Xbox's many believed this was the start of a new era... An era where competitors use each other's technologies and products.
With Microsoft's latest reaction we might have to change or opinions and believe there will never be a 360 with Blu-ray drive.
