More copy protected CDs in Japan

Thanks to Ushi-san who pointed us to an article on Japan Today we read that also Warner wants to release copy-controlled CDs in the japanese market.

TOKYO '” Warner Music Japan Inc said Friday it will begin releasing music compact disks featuring a copy-control function in May or June.

Warner will be the second Japanese firm to release products featuring such safeguards, after Avex Inc earlier this month released female South Korean singer BoA's new song on a CD that was designed to prevent unauthorized copying of the software on the Internet. (Kyodo News)

Well about the protection from Avex Inc we can be very short: it doesn't work. We already reported about this 'protection' some weeks ago when users were saying the protection was just a hype

Wonder what Warner will bring us or what protection they will use, but I doubt it will work.
