More information on ASUS' new 24x drive
Recently we reported that ASUS will bring us a 24 speed CD-RW drive, Seb mailed us with more information on this drive.

The drive can, as said, write at 24 speed, rewrite at 10 speed and read at 40 speed and uses Burnproof as buffer underrun protection.

Yesterday ASUS announced a 24x CD-Writer based on mechanic SANYO CRD-BP1500P.

It supports all latest technologies developed by SANYO : Zone-CLV, BURN-Proof and FexSS-BP.

    Does this do correct EFM?

    SatCPAccording to http://www.elby.de/CloneCD/english/cdr_s.htm is the Sanyo CDR-BP1500 (which the Asus is based on) not able to do correct EFM encoding of regular bit patterns. So the answer is no.
