Moser Baer's format technology approved by Blu-ray Disc Association

The Blu-ray Disc Association has just given the nod to add Moser Bear's patented technology, Low-to-High (L2H), as one of the four standard media to be used in their specifications. This approval will put Moser Baer in with other companies already recognized, such as; Mitsubishi Kagaku Media Co Ltd, Fuji Photo Film Co Ltd, and Taiyo Yuden of Japan.

This is expected to give the company a significant competitive edge in this next generation format race. Its pioneering work in the Low-to-High (L2H) recording technology for Blu-ray will help it further enhance its global leadership position.

"In the L2H format, other companies are working on the dye-based material while Moser Baer has adopted a new innovative approach based on inorganic phase change material with its own patented technology," says Giriraj Nyati, VP, engineering and technology, Moser Baer India.
