Nero 8 world premiere at IFA 2007 (Press Release)

Nero to present its latest technology by bringing a beach atmosphere to Berlin.

IFA, Berlin, Germany (August 30, 2007) -- Nero, leaders in digital media technology, announced today that the theme of the company's booth at this year's IFA tradeshow will be "Nero Beach". A fun, relaxed beach atmosphere will set the stage for the world premiere of the company's new digital multimedia suite, Nero 8. One of the highlights of the booth will be the surf simulator, where visitors will be photographed testing their surfing abilities, and can then upload their photo to their personal blog in the My Nero community.

Visitors to Nero Beach at this year's IFA will see the world premiere of Nero 8, the newest version of the world's best-selling digital multimedia suite, which is being introduced for the first time at Nero's exhibition booth.

Nero 8 is the latest version of the world's definitive digital multimedia suite. In bringing the digital world to your PC, Nero 8 makes it easy to create and organize multimedia projects with professional results. Users can make their own MP3 mix, edit High Definition video content, and burn large volumes of data with Nero 8's Blu-ray and HD DVD support. The simple Internet upload function lets users exchange photos and videos with other users with a single click. Nero 8 also lets users burn discs with just one click, and stream multimedia data to every room in the house. Nero 8 also provides a variety of features for increased data security and backup thereby offering the user unparalleled protection for important data.

As well, Nero Digital™ technology will be highlighted at Nero Beach. Nero Digital™ is Nero's own cutting edge video format, supporting resolutions up to Full HD 1080p, based on MPEG-4 audio and video codec technology. It lets users compress audio and video files to a fraction of its original size without a significant loss in quality.

Additionally, Nero Beach is sure to be of interest to Linux users. Nero will present Nero Linux 3, the latest version of the definitive burning solution for the Linux operating system, and the only one with Blu-ray and HD DVD burning support.

"We are pleased to present the world premiere of Nero 8 at IFA, and to do so, we want to offer something special to our visitors through our unique booth," said Patrick Peeters, General Manager EMEA, Nero AG. "The Nero Beach theme combines information about our newest products and technologies with a tradeshow experience that won't soon be forgotten."

Visitors can find Nero Beach at Stand 126 in Hall 15.1. Journalists are invited to a press conference and lunch on August 30, 2007 from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm in Hall 6.1, Room A and B.

Gees, I'm so far behind. Version 8 already. I never realized they got version 7 to run yet. supergrin

They haven't gotten 7 to run yet, actually version 4 was their best, since then it's been downhill. If I remember right, v4 was a 4-5 MB download.

I hope they get smart and release various versions at different cost points. All I want is basic burning, and don't feel like forking out big $$$$ for a program for which I only use 20 percent of the functionality.

I'm still using v6.6.1.15a. v7 was a hideous joke. v8 will probably be more of the same crap.

TrumanImgburn's compilation window just isn't up to the league of Nero, and doesn't even allow creation of a new folder inside compilation!

Version 7 hasn\\\'t even fixed a constant rumbling sound in the LFE channel when converting DVD\\\'s with 5.1 sound to NeroDigital ... Version 6 worked fine ... Both 6 and 7 generate sound that is so low in volume it\\\'s rediculous ... I wonder if any of this is addressed in V8, or if it is just more of the same cr#p ...

I'm hoping Version 8 finally give us small update patches, rather than having to download the entire 180MB program again.

I'm hoping v8 will have just a pure burning app download without the whole media suite to go with it. Nero was the best burning app, now its hard to even find the burning app amidst the other crap in there! They make Adaptec (Roxio's) old 'bloatware' look lean and mean!
