Nero releases Nero Linux 3 beta version

Nero has released its latest Linux version of its Nero software suite, bringing it up to version 3 beta.  Like its well known Nero 7 suite for Windows, this version features Blu-ray and HD DVD data recording support, an improved graphical user interface giving a similar look and feel to Nero Burning ROM 7 for Windows and an upgrade to GTK 2.0.

For those new to Nero Linux, this version requires at least Kernel 2.4 as well as Glibc 2.3.2, libstdc++6 3.4 and GTK+ 2.4.10 (or later).  Minimum hardware requirements include at least a Pentium III 800MHz, AMD Sempron 2200+ or equivalent, 128MB RAM, 50MB for the installation of the Nero Linux software and a CD, DVD, Blu-ray or HD DVD writer.

Unlike the huge ~176MB Nero 7 installation package for Windows, the Nero Linux 3 beta package is available as more bandwidth friendly size of just 9.48MB as a Red Hat Package (rpm) file or as a 9.34MB Debian (deb) file.

The latest version of Nero Linux can be obtained here on Nero Linux.  For technical support for Nero Linux, please visit our Nero Linux forum section.
