Note that Daemon Tools Lite is not free anymore and the free version of Daemon Tools requires adware installation (and requires an internet connection to do license enforcement.)

Lite is still free for personal use and it does not require to install any adware. DAEMON Tools Pro Basic is also free and requires adware to be installed. The interesting version with virtual-IDE is DAEMON Tools Pro Advanced and costs 35$ for a one year license.

kalasAs Erroneus already mentioned Daemon Tools Lite is like the 'old' dtools version. You can decline the installation of the adware in the installation process and it's free for persoanl use.

My mistake. The free Lite version download is a bit buried and the FAQ makes it sound like there is no free Lite version.
