NitroAV has launched the industry's first combo eSATA PCI Express host adapter, featuring two eSATA external and one SATA internal ports with a 3Gbps data rate per port. The adapter features the Silicon Image 3132 chipset with drivers available for Microsoft Windows, Linux, Apple's Mac OSX and Novel Netware operating systems. The controller can be run as RAID levels 0, 1, 0+1, 5, JOBOD or without RAID.
Other features include full compliance with SATA II and SATA 1.0 standard, Native Command Queue commands support, upgradeable firmware, standard height and low profile system support, eSATA cables up to 2 meters and hot swap support. The controller's on-chip memory can queue multiple commends for each port to eliminate host CPU intervention and minimise the PCI bus usage.
Further info on this controller can be read in this Business Wire press release.
