Since the launch of the PlayStation3 in PAL regions, it has already exceeded the 1 million sales mark going by this PC Advisor report. This also means that there are over 1 million Blu-ray players in the PAL market, since each PS3 doubles up as a Blu-ray player. Sales of the PS3 over this period have exceeded that of the original PlayStation and the PS2. 165,000 units were sold in the first two days alone, making it the 2nd best selling console at the time of launch after the PSP.
As the PlayStation network has already attracted over 460,000 registered members in Europe, it means that at least around half of European PS3 buyers connect their player to the Internet. However, despite the large PS3 sales, a report from the week earlier showed that Nintendo's Wii was outselling the PS3 5 to 1. When it comes to title sales, over 2 million PS3 titles have been sold with Fall of Man accounting for 600,000 of these.
